I'm not very happy with these images, as I don't like taking photos with my ipad. I need to master the art of editing on the ipad, at least until my camera is repaired or I get a new one.
Day 1. First meal of the year - pancakes, of course. What could be better for breakfast? I prefer mine quite plain, with just a bit of honey or maple syrup, but my boys love cream and all the bits and bobs like chopped bananas and strawberries.
Day 2
Sasha's been taking selfies on his ipad pretty regularly. Being an autie, he sees the world differently, and it's usually a detail that catches his attention rather than the whole object, person or picture. His selfies are most of the time deconstructed images of self and the world around. Unlike most of the modern teens who take selfies to share with everyone, Sasha doesn't care about showing his photos to anyone. In fact I need to check his ipad to find out which new images have appeared. For some reason, known just to him, Sash favours this jazzy filter on his ipad. It is not a vanity trip for him, like for most neuro-typical teenagers, it's his way of trying to understand who he is. That's how he perceives the world, de-fragmented.
Day 3: I don't do resolutions, full stop. But after lots and lots of espresso and latte in Italy, when I found it so difficult to fall asleep thanks to all the caffeine injected in my blood flow, I need to detox my body, and start drinking herbal and fruit teas again. Especially after lunch. Cherry and cinnamon was a new flavour for me. I brewed a cup, singing I kissed a girl and I loved it, the taste of her cherry chapstick... I don't even like the song, but that's what the infusion reminded me, of a cherry chapstick, only a bit more sophisticated, with a touch of cinnamon.
Loving the Graffalo plate and mug :)
ReplyDeleteLoving the breakfast - looks very indulgent.
ReplyDeleteThose pancakes look amazing!! YUM!
ReplyDeleteLoving the effect on the second photo. I have given up coffee pretty much too - and this time I actually am not missing it! Which is really unusual for me. My first time on #Project365 as well :)
ReplyDeleteThere are days when I'm perfectly content without coffee, though I wouldn't be able to function without tea, especially in the morning
DeleteStunning start. I am singing along with that Frozen song now. What a gorgeous effect on 2nd picture - bravo him. I too want a Gruffalo set now - and I read that cinnamon is great for us too somewhere - good call.
ReplyDeleteThank you. The Gruffalo was a gift for my son, but we are all big fans of The Gruffalo.
DeleteI'm with you on plain pancakes, that's my OH's dream with all that cream/ Love the colours around Sasha's eyes in his selfie. Look forward to following your year as it unfolds x #365
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary! I am looking forward to seeing your year in pictures as well
DeleteI haven't tried cherry and cinnamon, it sounds lovely though. Logan takes millions of selfies on his tablets and he likes to warp and morph them to!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see Logan's photos, have you done a post about it?
DeleteOoh cherry and cinnamon sounds interesting! #project365
