Protect yourself from the silent killer - FireAngel 7 Year Life Poisonous Gas Alarm giveaway (c/d 10 September 2016)

Keeping your family safe from carbon monoxide is of paramount importance. Did you know that each year in the UK around 50 people die from the effects of carbon monoxide poisoning, and 4000 people go to A&E  with 200 hospitalised (source: Gas Safety Trust) due to the effects of the gas. That means, one person dies every week, four are treated in hospital every day, and sadly it is children who are most vulnerable.

A great number of GP practices do not even own the equipment to test for Carbon Monoxide poisoning.
CorgiHomePlan feel very passionate about it, they believe that every GP needs access to the necessary equipment to detect the fatal gas at the crucial early stages.
So, they've launched a petition to make Carbon Monoxide Near-Patient Testing Devices mandatory in every GP surgery across the UK, and they need your help.
The challenge is easy - all you are asked to do is sigh the petition here, and maybe even share this campaign with your friends to help recruit as many signatures as possible.

Happy bathtime with Turtlemeter

Meet Rosa, a fun bath toy with a built-in thermometer. Well, it is actually called Turtlemeter (by Ozeri) but my younger son Eddie has given it a name Rosa (not sure where that comes from, but Rosa it is). This safety toy allows you to know if the water in the bath is just the right temperature. Yes, I typically use my elbow to check the water but this fab toy is useful if you're not sure if the temperature is right. I would imagine it to be a particularly great little gadget for any parent with a newborn, when you question everything around you.

How does it work?
Turtlemeter instantly activates in water without any buttons or switches, as there are three tiny water sensors on its tummy. The digital display on its shell lights up immediately, once immersed in the water. It calculates the water temperature and displays it with 3 different colour screens. Blue light indicates cold, red - hot, and green - just right.
It floats in the bath and is compliant with safety standards.
What did we think of it?
My little man is mesmerised and fascinated by the little screen. He loved the toy so much he wanted to take it with him to bed and also to the nursery to show it to his friend Charlie. I had to persuade him that the turtle prefers to stay at home.
It might help the reluctant tots to get in the bath. It's a very cute toy, and will make a lovely gift for any new parent.

This toy runs on 3 AAA batteries (which are included and preinstalled). It is advisable to dry the toy completely after use to prolong the life of batteries, it reacts not just to water but to moisture, so if you hold it in wet hands, the screen will light up.

What is useful to remember:
Water temperature in the bath can vary from one side to another. Always submerge your hand and forearm into the bathwater before placing your child inside.

Bathtime fun and safety with Anti-slip bath safety circles

Perhaps you have well-behaved tots who decorously sit and don't move when you tell them to sit still. Alas, that's not our case. Our bathtime tends to turn into the splashing-around session with Eddie laughing his socks off when I get splashed. He also moves a lot in the bath, playing with his toys. For active kids like my son there is a good quality safety product called Anti-Slip bath safety circles.

What are they? Essentialy they are quality anti-slip bath invention which is created to reduce the risk of slipping in the bath or shower.

What do they look like? They are rather discreet white self-adhesive circles (3.5cm in diameter). The top surface is textured. You stick them directly onto the bath floor.

They are very easy to apply and as easy to keep clean.

I like the idea that they are white. I have seen similar products on the market, the coloured bath dots, but if you don't want your bath to look like Mr Tumble's spotty bag, then this product offers a discreet safety and protection for your children.

I have been thinking of getting a bath mat for Eddie but hesitated as I read they tend to attract mould. While my Mum kept urging me on the phone to buy a bath mat for Eddie asap, I have seen a tweet, asking bloggers to try this product. That was a good timing.

Eddie can now move in the bath with ease without slipping.

The packet contains 28 white circles and a fitting template to give you an idea in which pattern to put the dots around the bath.

This product is recommended not just for young kids, but for the older people and the disabled.

After a couple of weeks of using, I can say that the dots stay put in the bath, they are easy to clean and make our bathtime safer.

Will I recommend this product to the other parents? Yes, absolutely.
