Out and About December round-up

December is always a busy month for anyone, there is one event after another, parties and pantomimes to attend, last minute gifts to buy, all the food to prepare and of course to keep children entertained during holidays.
Here is a quick reminder of where some of our lovely bloggers have been.

Alison from Dragons and Fairy Dust visited The Boiler Shop Steamer. This is a monthly event which celebrates food, drink and music, and takes place in The Boiler Shop, the birthplace of Stephenson's rocket. It sounds like great fun. Alison and her son explored the venue and treated themselves to some delicious burgers and taco shells.

One evening Fiona aka North East Nerd had a spontaneous date night with her boyfriend at the Coop Chicken House. She had a lovely evening, testing and tasting different sauces to go with the roast chicken. And they shared a delicious chocolate brownie between the two of them. It's nice to share, but sometimes it's also even better to have a whole brownie just for yourself.

Eileen from ET Speaks from Home loves taking her kids out, and they look like a well-behaved bunch (unlike some little people I know). For her son's birthday she took her family to Bhujon Cocktail Bar and Indian restaurant. They had a fantastic experience and enjoyed their meals.
The ice cream dessert called Caramel Royal looks extra gorgeous!

Eileen has also treated her family to a day at Drayton Manor Theme Park. So many things to see, so many things to do - there are 21 rides and attractions to choose from and enjoy. You can go on a ride at Troublesome Trucks Coaster, or visit the animals in the 15-acre zoo, help Father Christmas deliver his presents and much more. A truly magical day.

Cheryl from Madhouse Family Reviews and her super trio had a whale of a time at Gravelines Christmas Market. I love Christmas markets (especially the festive food stalls), and I bet it was great fun.

Lucky Cheryl visited more than one Christmas market. She also happened to spend a day at the Christmas market in Brest, Brittany. There were some unusual decorations like gigantic shoes and an elephant. I'm sure mulled wine Gluhwein and German chocolate gingerbread were most welcome in the cold.

Cheryl and her family loved watching the mapping show projected onto the big St Eloi church. It was a story of a teddy bear, and as it was told, all of a sudden an abseiling Santa appeared at the top, and as he landed, he picked up the real life teddy bear from the story. Not only that, Cheryl and Co saw a fabulous Santa model made of LED lights.

If you are going out and about in January, watching the sights and eating wonderful (or maybe not so wonderful) food, come and join our new #OutAndAbout linky.
